For a leading provider of Credit Union information systems,
RK Consulting, LLC (RKC) and Software Resources Corporation
(SRC) have teamed up to develop this client’s next
generation of core processing software. This multi-year
effort is designed to migrate the client’s existing
client/server-based platform to a new multi-tiered and web-enabled
architecture using the Microsoft .NET platform and the DB2/UDB
relational database. Using the Microsoft .NET Framework,
we have developed a thin-client application running under
the Internet Explorer web browser. Business logic is implemented
using C# components running on both an IIS server as well
as a transaction manager service developed internally using
.NET and C#.
RKC and SRC have been involved in all aspects of this project,
including requirements analysis, architecture and design,
data and object modeling, construction, systems integration
testing, configuration management, packaging and roll-out.
For the largest independent bank in Southern California,
RK Consulting, LLC (RKC) has been involved in several efforts.
First, RKC defined, designed, and implemented CityData,
an enterprise-wide data warehouse. CityData was implemented
using the IBM RedBrick Warehouse database system running
on a multi-processor Windows platform. End-user access to
the database was facilitated using Brio Technology query
tools.
RKC also developed a real estate appraisal workflow system.
The system was developed using Java for the presentation
and business tiers, Crystal Reports for reporting, and Microsoft
SQL Server as the database tier all running on the Microsoft
Windows platform.
For those applications targeted to be replaced as a result
of Y2K mitigation, RKC created a Common Application Model
(CAM) that defined the system architecture and common modules
used by custom applications. CAM included the architecture
for seven frameworks: user interface, reporting, security,
system interface, archival and purge, configuration service
and message service. CAM was developed in Java using Symantec’s
Java Database Edition.
RKC has also developed the bank’s latest release
of their customer relationship management application. This
application was developed using Microsoft Distributed interNet
Architecture (DNA) which utilized ASP and Javascript for
the presentation tier, Visual Basic/COM+ for the application
tier, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for the database tier.
For one of the nation’s largest mortgage funding companies,
RK Consulting, LLC (RKC) participated in the development
of several core application systems. First, RKC assisted
in the development of the Expense, Advance, Gain/Loss Enterprise
(EAGLE) and Default Management Systems (DMS) applications.
Both application were developed using the Microsoft Distributed
interNet Architecture (DNA) for the presentation and application
tiers, while the database tier was implemented using an
Oracle RDBMS running on a Unix-based HP server. The presentation
layer was developed using Dynamic HTML and ActiveX. Business
layer components were constructed using Visual Studio 6.0
(C++ and Visual Basic) and ATL/COM under IIS/MTS. Crystal
Reports web components were used to generate reports on
the presentation layer.
RKC also helped developed the Deal Distribution System
(DDS). DDS hosts Master Servicing data for Deal (Bond/Securities)
distribution. The DDS application was designed and developed
to collate data from various internal systems, enabling
bond analytics to maintain deal/collateral information,
amortize/aggregate collateral to the deal, export collateral
data to distribution calculation systems, and import back
the calculated securities/bond results. DDS was also designed
to be a distribution reporting system to investors and other
entities. The entire system was developed using Microsoft
DNA technologies for the application and presentation tiers,
MSMQ for application integration, CDO for email distribution,
Crystal Reports for reporting, and an Oracle RDBMS for the
database tier.
